The Bow Bun!

One of our favorite new trends is the Bow bun. It's the perfect updo for school, work, the gym, or a more formal event. It's easy to do and, with alittle hairspray, can last a long time. It's so unique and fun, and we reccomend that everyone try it, no matter what hair type! We've included some pictures and a how-to to help you get started. Enjoy!

(1) Using a ponytail holder that is the same color as your hair, pull your hair into a bun by not pulling the hair all the way through on the last looping of the ponytail holder. It is important that you pull the hair all in the same direction.
(2) Leave the very ends of your hair in the front, you will need them in a minute.
(3) Fan hair out, spritz with a little holding spray to make it stand up if needed.  Be liberal with the hairspray for the best hold and look.
(4)  Separate the fanned hair in the middle to make the two “loops” of the bun.
(5) Pull the ends that were left in the front backwards over the middle of the loops and pin in the back using a bobby pin.
(6) Add a little hairspray and smooth fly-aways with hair gel. You're Done!!

Have a cute hairstyle?? Please share!

Outfit of the Day: Tuesday

I'm wearing a black shirt from Express, over sized cashmere scarf from Macy's, Green slacks from Express, Vintage belt, and riding boots from Target. Today was super cold (there was a chance of snow!) so this outfit was both cozy and chic and perfect for the weather! The over sized scarf can also be a shawl, and I love its versatility. I also love the multiple colors. They're perfect for cheering up on a cloudy day!

I'm wearing a lace tanktop from American Eagle, a skirt from a store in Switzerland, a military jacket from Nordstrom, patterned tights, and combat boots from American Eagle. I like this outfit because its girly and super cute. I also love the pop of colr in the tank top. It pulls the outfit together.

New Season...New Closet

So every time the weather changes, so does my wardrobe found in my closet. It takes a long time to change out my closet, and it can get quite messy. I thought it would be funny to put a before and after picture!!

Great Beauty Tips for a Girl on a Budget

Hey guys! I know being naturally beautiful is no problem for all of you. But, if you're like us, you need a few beauty pick-me-ups from time to time. And we know that those can get pretty pricey at times. But, we have learned ways to take care of some of your beauty needs with three drugstore staples. These products are a bargain and have multiple uses. Enjoy and stay beautiful!!

Product #1: Cotton Swabs

1. Desmudge: Dip one in makeup remover to erase goofs.
2. Create a cat eye: Use one to stretch liner up and out.
3. Soften a lip-liner edge: Run it over the outside of the line.
4. Tame heavy eyeliner: Or just perfect your work.
5. Do a bedroom eye: Apply eyeliner, then remove some.
6. Lighten up: Dip it in illuminator to highlight cheekbones.
7. Camouflage darkness: Dab brightening powder under eyes and around nostrils.
8. Remove fake lashes: Saturate a swab in makeup remover; wiggle across the base of the fake to peel it off gently.
9. Hide zits: Dab powder over concealer to keep it in place.
10. Get your money's worth: Dig a swab into any almost-empty jar of precious product. Every penny counts!

Product #2: Toothbrush

1. Get rid of flyaways: Dab hair gel on the bristles, then smooth along your hairline.
2. Exfoliate lips: Wet the brush, and gently rub over lips.
3. Whip up a face mask: Use it to mix ingredients and apply.
4. Groom brows:
Spritz the bristles with hairspray!
5. Dye brows: Dip it in hair color, and brush through brows. (Leave dye on for 3-5 minutes.)
6. Try a laid-back 'do: Spray hair with dry shampoo; back-comb with the brush.
7. Clean Under Nails: Skip the expensive nail brush and go for the cheaper and just as effective toothbrush.
8. Fix mascara: Nix globs.
9. Remove hair-color stains:
Dip the brush in shampoo, and gently scrub around your hairline.
10. Brush teeth: Duh...

Product #3: Petroleum Jelly

1. Glossy eyes: Put a small amount over shadow—or even on bare lids—for chic shine.
2. Boost lashes: Dab on lashes and brows before bed to keep them supple and strong.
3. Moisturize lips: All day.
4. Protect skin while coloring hair: Apply around your hairline to prevent staining.
5. Soften cracked heels: Coat feet at night, put on cotton socks, wake up smooth.
6. Chisel cheeks: Pat a (tiny!) bit onto cheekbones.
7. Nourish nails: Massage into cuticles to soften them.
8. Undo foundation overkill: Tap it along skin to break it up.
9. Sooth cold-inducing chapping: It beats fancy creams for the dry skin around the nose—those can sting.
10. If you don't use jelly: Make a flavored lip gloss. Mix with Kool-Aid!

Do you have any drugstore product tips? Please share! We would love to add them to our drugstore shopping list!

Current Obsession: Tights.

Who says shorts are just for summer? Try wearing some colored or patterned tights under shorts, skirts, or dresses! They make the cutest outfits even when the weather is cold.

When wearing colored tights, try to pair them with a more neutral outfit to make a statement. When wearing patterned tights, such as lace, polka dots, etc., try to pair them with a solid colored dress or shirt. Or get creative! Mixing patterns is in this season, and tights are the perfect way to mimic this trend without being too bold. Below is a picture of us and our friends wearing tights, don't be afraid to share yours!
